This large, fast growing tree grows to 90’ in height. The tulip-shaped leaves emerge in bright green changing to yellow in fall. The blossoms in May to June have yellow-green petals with an orangish corolla somewhat similar to the tulip flower. The fruit is a cone-like aggregate of samaras turning brown in October and persisting through winter. The grayish-brown bark is furrowed into ridges. This tree is an upright cultivar. Native: Massachusetts to Wisconsin and south to Florida and Mississippi.
